Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be transported to your selected hotel. In the afternoon enjoy our half-day City Tour that will provide you with a general view of the city and its attractions. The approximately three hour tour will allow you to visit Retiro, Palermo, 9th of July Avenue, the Colon Opera House and the Obelisk, Downtown (the Congress, the Mayo Square, Mayo Avenue, Government House), Puerto Madero and San Telmo with stops in Recoleta with its famous cemetery, and Francia Square and La Boca with the colorful Caminito. We recommend trying some local restaurants where you will find a variety of cuisine styles ranging from the great parrilla (BBQ) and pastas, to Mexican and vegetarian, and more exotic options. Night in Buenos Aires.
Day 2: Buenos Aires – Day at Leisure + Milongas Tour
Breakfast. Day at leisure to explore the city at your own pace (optional tours available).
At the end of the night enjoy Tango through the Milongas Porteñas. In recent years, thanks to the tourism boom and the renewed interest of young locals by the tango, has revitalized the traveling circuit of milongas, places where you will find people of very different ages, backgrounds and social backgrounds, dancing late the more authentic tango. Each milonga has its own days of operation, style and dance defined public; we visit two, to define according to the day of hiring the tour. Night in Buenos Aires.
Day 3: Buenos Aires – Bariloche + “Asadito” (BBQ) with local family
Breakfast. At appropriate time, transfer to the local airport to take your flight to Bariloche. Upon arrival, transfer to your selected hotel.
At night, you will be taken to a local family's home, to enjoy a typical “asado” (barbeque). This traditional Argentine BBQ is not just a meal; it’s a social event. Although it’s usually held on Sundays or for a special occasion, Argentines will tell you that any excuse can and will do! The slow cooking of the meat over the hot wooden embers allows plenty of time for catching up with family and friends, sipping wine, and enjoying the distinct aroma of the BBQ. If you wish, you can help with the preparation of the meal and learn the ins and outs of slow cooking over the fire. During this true feast, you will enjoy an array of sausages and meat cuts, drink red wine (usually Malbec) and finish off with a traditional dessert of flan with dulce de leche or any local dessert. The grill itself is called a parilla and is usually located in a quincho, a structure where cooking and eating takes place. This is a great chance to experience dining with a local family while getting a glimpse into the everyday life of Argentines. Practice your Spanish and BBQ’ing skills and make friends along the way. After the meal, you will be taken back to your hotel.
Night in Bariloche.
Day 4: Bariloche – Full day Rafting Manso Inferior w/lunch
We pick up the passengers at their lodging. We leave Bariloche through Route 258, proceeding to Lake Steffen passing lakes Gutierrez, Mascardi and Guillermo. Once at the Steffen, while the guides set up the rafting gear we change in to our rafting attire. After a brief Put-in Safety Talk given by the head-guide, we are ready to go down the Río Manso. Surrounded by high peaks and exuberant forest, our raft drifts downstream while we watch the rich flora of the National Park: Coihue, cypress, arrayan, maiten, radal, colihue cane, chilco, etc. We can also watch birds such as martin pescador (king fisher), bandurria, avutarda and tero. The crystal clear waters of the Manso will allow us to watch different kinds of trout as well. After approximately an hour and a half, we come ashore in a beautiful sandy beach, where our guides will prepare a delicious lunch. The meal consists of: vegetables, cold meat, breads, dressings, fruits, juices and something sweet. Around 3:00 p.m. we are all set to resume the trip. From here on, the Manso becomes more and more thrilling. Alka Seltzer, Billiard Edge, Hippo Tooth, Roller Coaster and Magnetic Rock are some of the rapids we will run. In the Summertime, we like to enjoy a plunge in the lukewarm backwaters. After merging with Rio Villegas we run the most exciting rapids. When we arrive in the Lower Manso valley, the trip concludes. Once we arrive to our private take out, Campo Piedra Pintada (Painted Rock Ranch) we change clothing and enjoy an exquisite snack. We then start our trip back to Bariloche, arriving around 7pm. Night in Bariloche.

We all had a wonderful time. Loved Buenos Aires. The hotel\'s you selected were very nice - especially liked the room in Recoleta(overlooking the cemetery) and the one in Mendoza(with a balcony overlooking the tree lined street). The hotel in Colonia was beautiful and the pool felt great after our travels. Colonia was definitely a worthwhile place to visit. We were wishing we had another night there. The glacier tour was definitely a highlight - walking on the glacier with crampons and of course it helped that we had a beautiful day. The wine tour was also very special as we had a guide who was fun to talk with and gave us lots of information about the area and the vineyards. The lunch at Septima was especially good. We did not love the city of Montevideo, but we rented a car without any problem and went to Piriopolis for a day at the beach and that was great. The hotel desk person was a big help with setting this up.

Thank you for your help and I will send friends your way when they are ready to travel to Argentina.

We used Eureka Travel to plan a 21 day trip for 6 adult friends to Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. We all had a fantastic time, and have nothing but good things to say about Analia and the people at Eureka. When we began planning the trip, Analia was very helpful and responsive as we went through the various iterations about exactly where we were going and what we were going to see and do. The final itinerary was very clear and we had a phone conversation to go over each day of the trip to ensure that I knew exactly what to expect. All 6 of us shared the same itinerary in Chile and Argentina, but we went separate ways once we reached Brazil. Analia was very accommodating and helpful in making the different arrangements for all of us on the Brazil portion of the trip.

Once the trip began, we were all very pleased with the design of the itinerary (where we were, how many days we spent there, what we did, etc). Analia and Cecilia (who lives in Argentina) were both very responsive to the questions or issues we had along the way (there were very few). All of our accommodations were first rate and in great locations. All of our transportation was extremely well coordinated - the drivers and tour guides were where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there. We had at least 7 or 8 different tour guides in the different locations throughout the trip, and they were all incredible, with excellent English, local knowledge, and interpersonal skills.

Of course there were a few glitches along the way, but they were all quickly handled with a text, phone call, or Email. We have nothing but praise for Analia and Eureka, and would definitely use them again or recommend others to plan their holiday to South America.

We asked Eureka Travel to help us plan a trip to Chile for our daughter. We adopted her at 4 months and thought she would enjoy getting in touch with her culture. The trip was everything we wanted. We loved the activities and the people of Chile.
